The Odyssey (and Iliad) as retold (in a very truncated version) by Penelope's shade. Listened to the audio version and did not feel the reader's voice suited the story, nor did it suit me. The poetry and songs of the hanged maids alternate with Penelope's reflections, and are the better portion. I also heard echoes of The Handmaid's Tale. (Fiction) 08/10/09
