Bait

By: Nick Brownlee
A first fiction book of a new series that takes place in Kenya. A little too bloody for my taste. The very first scene takes place on a fishing boat with the boat owner tied to a chair as he is being gutted while alive. Brownlee introduces us to the blacker side of sex traffic, police corruption, international bosses and money. Although I enjoyed the lead characters Jake Moore, a former policeman from England, and Daniel Jouma, an older Kenyan policeman who has never taken a bribe, it was not enough to carry the overriding blackness of the story.
