Rain Gods

(Disclaimer: I'm not a regular with this author.) Riveting thriller with multi-layered characters, character revelation, surprises and twists, and terrific desert atmosphere. Ruminations on human nature. Poetic descriptions of human and natural landscapes. My quibble is there were just too many poetic sunsets/sunrises and the metaphors never stopped. The story makes you want to rush, but the descriptions need to be savored. (Fiction) 07/27/09
