The Baker Street Letters

By: Michael Robertson
What a fun read! This debut mystery features brothers Reggie and Nigel Heath. Reggie is a successful solicitor; Nigel is also a solicitor but mostly a really nice guy. Perhaps too nice - his less than graceful attempt to return a fee that he thinks is undeserved leads to complications, including a temporary demotion to office clerk for his brother. Their newly leased offices are located on the second floor of a large building on Baker Street in London, a space designated by the landlord as 221B. And so Nigel becomes responsible for handling letters directed to Sherlock Holmes, beginning with one sent 20 years before from an 8-year-old American girl named Mara. Nigel takes this responsibility extremely seriously - and that leads to far more complications. Enjoy this on your porch on a hot afternoon and look forward to more in the series. Review by Anne.
