My Sister's Keeper

By: Jodi Picoult

This book is about a 13 yr. old girl, Anna. After a lifetime of giving of her own platelets, bone marrow, cord cells, etc. to her cancer ridden sister, Kate, Anna makes the decision to seek help in putting a stop to this "giving" of herself. She obtains legal counsel to become medically emancipated. In this book we hear the voices of all of the main characters involved including each of Anna's family members as well as the lawyer and appointed guardian. This was a thought-provoking book to say the least. I enjoyed it, from beginning to end and especially enjoyed the different voices . . . loved the motivations that could be determined by her use of this technique. I would love to recommend this book - more depth and different ending from the movie! (Fiction) 07/06/09
