This book provides the reader with insight into intolerance and racial discrimination. It takes place in Jackson, Mississippi in the early 1960's but probably could be almost anywhere in the country at that time in our history. You learn what life was like from the point of view of the maids and their racist employers. Very well written. Review by Rita. (Fiction) 07/13/09
